VW Selling Passat TDIs from storage lots back to Dealerships

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not but here it goes.

I am starting to see the 2012 - 2015 TDI Passats showing up in Dealership lots across the country. Not sure how long this has been occuring. VW is giving these a 2 year 24,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.

Just wanted to some thoughts here as I am considering buying. Thanks in advance!

They've been doing that for Jettas and JSW and Golfs for quite some time, maybe now it's the Passats turn.

Last time I looked out '12 Passat with 80K that went back to VWoA June 2017 hasn't changed titles yet.

Passats went back on the market at the same time everything else did. I think they've been available for sale for 2-3 years now.

I bought my 2015 just over a year ago. I had a 2014 which was 6 months before that.

It's funny, the dealer I went to to buy my '14 passat had this fancy program that showed only 8 passats from 2012-2015 available in a 500 mile radius. I also don't believe him because I drive by a herzog Meyer every day and they have them lined up out front. Plus he said TDI's have timing chains lol

Oh dealers - had one that tried to say a 2013 Golf R 2.0T had a chain. It's the only holdover from the BPY (FSI) era and most assuredly has a belt.

Back to Passats - according to my information, only the DSG's are for sale. There has not been and still is no approved fix for the manual transmission. Likely all the manuals bought back will be scrapped unless they figure something out...

12-14 passats have been the rarest cars to be resold. My local dealer has only sold 2 and mine is one of them. Plenty of gen 1s and some gen 3s have been sold. I bought mine 9/15/17.

They are either seriously idiots, or they are lying.. I bet both.

Lying because I just went to vwofsalem and they have 15 2015 Passat TDI’s ranging in price from $9,995 to $14,995

My Passat has that Herzog badge on the rear deck. I bought it in January of 2018 with about 30 Beaverton addresses saved in the Navigation.

Small world lol well my wife already crashed hers... Someone ran her off the road on a gravel road and side swiped some bushes. Good times.

I bought my '14 Passat last June, but it was fixed then traded, never bought back. I got it as a CPO, 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. That is good, as in the last 11 months I've put on 17k miles. I had the heater core changed but that wasn't under the CPO warranty so I didn't even owe them the $50.
