If your tb fails on vacation, having a backup won't do much good.

Which is true. I am just inlcluding all the items if they want them. My thought is if the water pump goes out late Friday while on long trip, can't get new pump until following week, now they have a good used one to get by on, so the water pump is the main thing in this auction. While they are in there they notice their belt is badly frayed, and now at least they have a good used spare to pop on until they can get home to buy new one cheaper than buying from VW while on the road, etc... If they have the $$ they could buy all new parts to carry as spares and in a perfect world, that would be nice, but for some, just having a good used spare to get by on is better than having nothing.

This thread should be locked to deter anyone thinking of recycling used TB parts.

The OP's intentions were good, but yeah it is probably not good to use used parts in this case.

Timing belts rarely fail on the ALH unless they are neglected or installed wrong.

I have an auction on ebay for used diapers. They are only 1/2 full. I also have some oats that have already been through the horse once, at a great discount over new price.

I would never reuse a TB or water pump. I do keep spares like a/c blowers and injector bodies and things like that, but nothing that could render my ALH a $5500 anchor.

I cut a 2"x2" hole in the tread of every motorcycle tire I replace to make sure no one tries to reuse it.

This auction will encourage some cheap skate to try to save money on a TB.
