Just did my first transaxle fluid change on the Passat: even tho' I'm a "Veteran" I did a search on the procedure. Net result: I learned that I would need a 17mm allen (available at AutoZone) 2 and 1/4 quarts of fluid (Mobil 1 75w90 was my choice also at AutoZone, and no, I don't work for them) the exact locations of the fill and drain plugs, and the proper funnel to do the job (I had one but you can get that at AutoZone too).
(Get to the point Edith)
Instead of asking the question and waiting for an answer, I found what I wanted and got the job done. (and I'm a functional computer illiterate /images/graemlins/blush.gif )
(Kudos to Pharmerman, GWillie and the other contributer to the year old post.)
