Update : headlights are sold
Feeler:
I have a set of two HID housings (1j5 941 015bn/1j5 941 016bn) that need some TLC, but have potential if you are interested in a project. Here are some photos and I will do my best to document their condition:
The next three pictures show the right headlamp. The outside edge of the plastic lens has a crack running up the side that is not visible when viewed from the front; there is also a small scuffed area about the side of a dime in the upper outside corner. Internally, all the wiring is present and undamaged. The high beam bulb and city light are included, but the other low beam and turn signal bulb are not present. The ballast and ignitor are also not included. Lower mounting tabs are intact, but the both upper tabs are broken off. There are repair kits available for the tabs, I know ECSTuning sells them. A leveling motor is also installed and both adjustor screws and mechanisms are undamaged and functioning. A ballast, ignitor, tab repair kit, D2S bulb, and H21W bulb would get this headlight up and working. Additionally, you can choose to repair or replace the plastic lens as you see fit.
The next series of photos show the left headlight which has more damage. This headlight is also missing the ballast, ignitor, inside upper mounting tab, and the H21W turn signal bulb. There is a D2S bulb, but it appears to might be damaged and has no guarantee to work. Also, the adjuster screw for the low beam is damaged and missing. The internal mechanism which it connects to is intact and can be threaded with a standard thread bolt. I am not to familiar with the best repair tactic, but some creativity should provide a working fix. The upper inside mounting tab is broken off and has a crack in the housing around that area as well. The internal frame is fractured around the low beam, but it looks to be repairable. Also, the plastic lens has some extensive damage and scratches and would most likely need to be replaced. The lower lip of the metallic reflector inside the lens shows a slight buckle, but I do not believe it carries over to any of the functional part of the lights. Lastly, the retaining ring for the low beam bulb appears damaged and would need replaced. The leveling motor and wiring is also present and intact.
These came off my car because they were damaged in a parking lot. They have been repaired/replaced, and this is what is left over. I am not sure if there is any interest or what value they would hold, but I am posting a feeler thread to see what you'll think. I know these lights are quite expensive, so I am going to suggest $300 for the lights as they are; reasonable offers are welcomed if you wish. They definitely need some work, but the right headlight should at least be a not too difficult repair. Feel free to ask, if you have any questions.
Thanks.... Eric....
