First time in 42 tanks (since Jan 2011) that RUG has been more xpensive than D2 at a station I have used to fillup.

I know D 2 is Diesel but what is RUG , normally I put a RUG on the floor and put REG. as in Regular Gas in a Gasoline car. SO why is everyone calling Regular ,a RUG??????? are the rednecks down south wearing them on their heads? :):)

What do you think R.U.G. (RUG) stands for?

ROFL (hope I don't have to explain that one.)

RUG = Regular Unleaded Gas

Locally, gas and diesel have come down about 4¢ overall. I was hoping the diesel trend would continue, but alas it looks to be holding stead again. Most stations are now $3.959 on the low end.

Paid $3.97 for D2 and rug was $3.61 in SC on Tuesday. I once again have my JSW back so am happy with diesel grunt. Hopefully my daughter can find someone closer to her home to work on her passat.

At my usual Irving station today $3.99/gallon because I finally got the benfit of the Irving Rewards Card. You buy 50 gallons, you get 10 cents off per gallon up to 20 gallons. The Golf is so stingy it took a long time to get up to the 50 gallon mark.:)

In the Denver metra area on Sante Fee Dr south( US 285 ) I saw RUG for $3.839 and D2 for $3.869 this morning. That is the closest I have seen the two in over 7 years in Colorado. At many more stations along the drive I saw D2 for $3.999-4.059 and RUG for $3.899-3.999.

4.09 is the best I can find for decent fuel. In my town it's all around 4.25 though. Not sure why there is such a major variance within a 5 mile radius where I am.

Diesel dropped from 4.23 to 4.19 here. I was surprised.

I'm not suggesting that this thread should die. But diesel prices have been stuck in a narrow range for almost 12 months now in most parts of the country.

Gasoline prices have been far more volatile, climbing nationally from around $3.25 to $3.90 just between mid-January and early April. Now gas prices are falling, slightly, while diesel continues to hold steady.

I hardly call going from $3.799 to $4.199 slight, which has happened where I was getting most of my fuel. But going into this time of the year gasoline is affected by the summer blends of gasoline required by the EPA.

The range here has been about the same, plus or minus 5% from the mid-point.

Back in 2007-2008, diesel prices nearly doubled, then fell back to below where they started the climb. Now those were interesting times.

The bottom point around here appears to be $3.869, which is what I paid last night at the Raceway in Tillmans Corner, Alabama, near Mobile. I saw $3.879 at Dodge's on Nine Mile Road in the northern part of Pensacola, too. Where I live (in between those places) it's no lower than $3.969.

Not a mile from that $3.869 in Tillmans Corner was a Shell asking $4.249. :cool:

$4.33-$4.39 in SLO county, CA (roughly) - so, I guess I was wrong about the worldwide conspiracy to raise diesel prices to discourage Americans from driving diesels. My bad.
