Hi - I'm curious of going with a non-dealership shop for the 60,000 mile service on my '02 Golf TDI does anythign to my warranty? I *think* the only applicable warranty right now is the power train one. I bought the car brand new in November '01.

There's a biodiesel shop that also services TDI's in town here (PrairieFire BioFuels) and I'm thinking of going with them for the 60,000 mile service.

thanks!

And in case you didn't get the point or are having second thoughts...

Jason Daniels... (AKA JasonTDI around here)

Not only a first rate mechanic, but a first rate gentleman !!!!

The 60,000 mile checkup on your car isn't too critical, but the 80,000 mile one will be (timing belt for the 2002's)... He'll be the first choice for that one as well...

All the best,

Yuri.

Actually, you'll be better off not going to the dealership. (snip)
__. You've gotten good info on this thread but this is probably the best info that you've had.

Lucky b@stard, living right next to Jason!

I drove up from Chicago - in a blizzard - to get him to do a TB on our NB. Talk about thorough, he went all over the car and found several small problems and suggested fixes for them all.

Highly recommended!
