I have been buying 507.00 Total Quartz ineo long life in a case of 3 5 liter jugs for my cjaa for the last 5 years now no issue, probably on my 10th or 12th oil change. Amazon slipped a listing for Total Quartz Ineo mc3 into my search and I did not realize it, noticed while doing my oil change (after drain of course) its a 505.00 oil. As my signature suggests I'm not terribly scared of ash, anyone know what other differences in the standard exist?

Drain what you got and get some 507 and drive on... As you say ash is one issue, but not for you. With out knowing the full chemistry between the two I am old fashion and tend to use the recommend lubricants. What if you leave the 505? Don't know, doubt it will kill your engine.

I'd complain with passion at Amazon seller, say you screwed up (I think that what you said their fault) and talk them into sending you the right stuff, no additional charge... but bottom line my 2 cents is get 507 even with the phantom DPF.

Is this the 5w-30 or 5w-40 stuff? In any case, it probably has a bit more additive like zinc, etc. , and a bit lower quality base oil. Personally, I'd use the 5w-40 version in my tdi, and the 5w-30 in other equipment/vehicles.

its the 5w30 stuff, Ill make a note to amazon, I did order it quite a while ago, but probably worth the college try! Worst case I'll put it in the ford escape, it calls for 0w20, but its got 200k on it and a bit thicker oil would probably do it good!
