Im looking for the turbine wheel specs for a bv43a. I found the compressor specs in this thread at 37mm inducer and 49mm exducer but caint find anything on the turbine side. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

A little off topic, but what is the groups thoughts on ceramic ball bearings for the GTB2260?

May be doing a rebuild when adding a larger compressor wheel.

Good upgrade, or skip?

AFAIK, ball bearings are not drop-in replacements where journal bearings were originally used.

Does anyone have specs for the Bmw turbo as fitted to the 740d ? Went to local breakers and they had a few tasty turbochargers on the shelf, the one I am asking was a huge housing with billet compressor and had v-band exhaust housing ! Price was steep €500... it looked big for a single turbo ! They also had the twin turbo from the same model... that looked impressive- also Garrett jobbies !

Previous x40d's were V8s but BMW has taken to creative and confusing naming scheme so now it's nothing more than a single turbo "Twin Power" inline-6. What you most likely saw at the breakers was a GTB2260V. Nothing all that special about them in the day and age of sequential x35d/x50d and ball-bearing turbos used elsewhere. The 6-digit Garrett PN will help a lot, then you can cross reference it here or here.

Hi, Thanks FOR taking The tine to answer, This was no ordinary gtb2260, it was a lot bigger than what i ever saw and it had billet compressor wheel. I have had a few gtb2260v in my hands at some time and these were a lot bigger...I might go there once more and take a picture of the I’d tag with the part numbers and we’ll take it from there !

So bmw has moved away from biturbo setup on their 35d/40d models? It used to have kp35 and k26.

It looks like I should not exceed 155000RPM

If anybody can provide the turbo spec that would be awesome. In the meantime I'll run 155000RPM.

There is no one single map for all the probably dozens of 2260 variants. The map will be affected by trim, turbo generation, blade design/configuration, housing A/R, presence of a recirculation port (ported shroud), extended tip, etc., etc. The absolute minimum additional piece of info you need to make close to the correct match is trim; 55 trim will have a very different map from a 48 trim, even on the same GT generation and 60mm nominal exducer diameter.

I'm looking to reduce the under hood temps and would like to see if a turbo blanket does the trick.

I was wondering if someone could take some measurements of their Audi GTB2260VK turbo?

They require the outer circumference of the turbine housing and the width of the housing. If you need a visual reference of what they need, then click on the link, scroll down and click on the TURBO SIZING tab. :)

I collected all the turbos and dimensions that I found in this topic. None of the measurements are my own. List is now in somewhat size order so its easier to look what is the next step in size bigger or smaller.

Does anyone have info about GT3067S from Audi biturbo engine ? And maybe some pictures from that turbo ?

seems extremely small for 300 horses. could be some donkey's in between them and start degrading the power at 26°C and 1012 mbar or so :p

You are right, Ruben, I thought it was small also for the engine output, then I just realised that this engine was a twin turbo setup in parallel. Don't know what the wheel measurements are, but it would still be good as a modest performance upgrade. It does has a triangular turbine inlet flange and not sure whether the rotary actuator operates on CAN or what frequency of PWM, but can be converted to vacuum.
