Hi:

I have been away for a couple of months and haven't followed the forum, or checked my snail mail, but when I got home yesterday, there was a letter from Volkswagen Canada advising that they are extending the warranty on the DSG in my 2009 Jetta TDI, to a period of 10 years. That should provide some comfort to the people who were worrying about the cost of replacing the DSG.

Has anybody gotten any more info regarding the 'Spring' campaign that is suppoed to address DSG shifting characteristics/abnormalities by utilizing a newly developed diagnostic tool for affected sensors?

Also, what is everyone's opinion on if one with the extended warranty, or even just the basic warranty, does their own DSG fluid change and a problem crops up down the road with the DSG, whether a shifting issue (which a lot of folks have in one form or another) or a DMF issue which is not totally out of the question given '06 DMF failures.

I hate to say it, but my feeling is it might be used a a loop-hole.
