Blower Motor or Resistor?

Hi all,
This is in my wife's Mk7 GTI with manual climate control and not the TDI.

Blower motor will not operate on highest fan speeds, 4/5/6. Occasionally when left on the higher speed selections the motor will blow at the selected speed and then slow back down to under fan speed 4. Speeds 1/2/3 seem to work normally.

Wondering if the resistor or blower motor is faulty?

Anyone have any other similar experiences on their Mk7?

Edit: Just took the car for a quick drive, blower motor worked properly on speed 6 and reverted to a slower speed, 3 or so on its own after about 10 minutes.

Thank you,
Matt

i'm not sure if the mk7 still use a "resistor pack" of yore, I think its more a control module.

Do a search over on vtex i think a guy over there has similar issues within 4-5 months ago and traced it down to the controller.

From what I saw online the motor has a resistor bolted to it. Or at least it is called a resistor when I look up the part number.
