Excellent.

This is the long term measurement that counts.

Wonder mileage tanks come and go, it is the long picture that is the true story.

Jayb79: Excuse my brashness but I don't believe for one nanosecond that you have averaged 52.1mpg for 19tanks of fuel driving 70mph. You'd make a good bass fisherman!!

Have a good 1.

You do the math. Not all my driving is at 70 that is roughly 80% the rest is rural 35-50mph only rarely beating on it.

jayb79: I was just a-teasing you. I haven't done the math but I do take your word for it. That is very good mpg. Just curious as to if that's with the A/C "on" or "off"?

Since I HOPE I've finally learned how to fill the tank, this tank fillup is by far getting much better mpg. So I think my TDI will do just fine on the mpg. What I'm not pleased with is the get-up-&-go pep. Maybe someday I'll be financially able to have the chip upgrade, K&N air filter, and a good catback exhaust sytem such as Borla or whatever.

Take care and I hope my TDI will eventually get as good of mpg as yours.

I would estimate the A/C was only on about 2-3% of the total miles. Its been a fairly mild summer up here. I am not sure why my milage is so good, its even better than my 98 Jetta that was averaging about 48 mpg. I have not changed my driving habits with my NB and this car is about 300lbs. heavier than the jetta. I did not have the elephant hose on the jetta but i can't believe that would make much if any differance in mpg.
