Well i guess i will have to wait see how drivable it is and exchange it for a hybrid s200v if needed my friend already said he would give me what i payed for the s300v if i dont end up keeping it

I think that Hybrid S200V wont spool much sooner and makes lot more EMP. That S300V turbine wheel is so much better...

I hope you have good tuner. These turbos need lots of fuel / heat for spool.

Too bad that there is no version that use 69.5/56 or 69.5/58 turbine wheel. I have seen those turbine wheels in S200G turbos.

why one wants such a low trim turbine? add plenty of inertia which doesn't help spool or peak flow. the 56mm S200v feels alige lets say after 2300 rpm and really ok at 3k. (on 3,0 tdi)

also a 79.5mm turbine will be tip speed limited before the compressor (saying 76/55 wheel for example) which mean means one has to use even bigger compressor wheel so get enough massflow as the lower maximum shaft speed and thus add again inertia/loss of transient response.

S200V is nice frame but i dont think it is optimal solution when billet compressor inducer is bigger than 50mm. Exhaust side just does not flow so good...

I have had S200G with 51.5/76(80ETT) compressor and 69.5/56 turbine. That would be nice turbo with VNT housing.

yes I think the optimal wheel for S200 is the efr7064 one. for bigger a bigger turbine is indeed a good idea. but too big trim turbine with only 56mm exducermight make a 'lazy' turbo due to the extra inertia. for efficiency at high PR I think its a good thing. but peak flow will still be limited by the 56mm exducer.

Maybe holset he341ve is good condidate too. they come with 56-58mm comp inducer stock wise and turbine I think around 63-65mm exducer.

Yucca - how do you mean didn't flow so good?
Do you have measurements?

Thanks
Problems to limit boost pressure. Also EMP S200V vs. S300V.

I have one S200V hybrid, maybe can test it in 1.9TDI this fall. That car (1.9TDI PD) now makes 379bhp with 50mm inducer turbo, my S200V is with 53mm GTX wheel so i hope +400bhp.

Sorry, S200G and S300V turbine wheel is 69.5mm, not 79.5mm like i wrote.

It's hard to select right components for your turbo. I tried EFR7064 comp with 64/55 turbine and it didn't have enough power to spin it up for high boost. EFR compressor has really aggressive profile. Tho 2bar @ 3000rpm isn't bad. 4th gear log, 2.1bar max. I wanted more boost so lets see how it works with bigger turbine (70/59). My last garrett did spool up better (200-300rpm) and less emp with bit bigger turbine (53.5/47 -> 56.5/53.4). Here is the log on 4th gear floored at 1800rpm.

thats probaly where the 0.5l displacement helps out. the billett efr wheel is lighter than the cast S200.

I was also surprised how bad the gtd1449vz (184 hp mk7) spools on the 1.6 tdi. its day and night and yet only 20% displacement less.

with the S200v with 50/70 wheel that bobby has he is comp tip speed limited (155k rpm) with IIRC what he told around 1.3 EMP/boost ratio (absolute pressure) at 4000 rpm/450hp.

I think with efr wheel one can gain a bit more flow at same shaft speed and possible not pay much in term of EMP. this could bring maybe aother 20-25hp. but after than I think its over for 56mm turbine.

Shafts speed peaks sometimes higher but it doesn't complain so far - needs another boost leak test.

Looks like I have my next winter project.

Does anyone think billet manifolds and larger uppipes and a billet collector manifold are worth it ? For lets say 500+hp

Or will stock stuff be fine

I have a couple cp3 modification tricks that i will perform if that isent enough il try a cummins or duramax cp3 if thats not enough i will put dual cp3s

Sorry, but this 600whp info is bs. I have same pump on audi that duramax has, also i did all those cp3 tricks, but still not enough. It might make 600 engine hp, but only with maybe 1500bar pressure, not 2200+ like we need on audi cuz of small injectors...

I would just source 240hp passat inj and adapt them to fit 3.0 tdi, biggest stock inj available.

Well i dont know then they also make upgraded cp3 with stoked cam and larger plunger . How much fuel do these 3.0 tdis need? What about a siemens k16 pump i will guarantee thats enough fuel

If 500hp is your goal, then cp3s3 r110 will do the trick. I have to search MAN pump now, tired of limp mode after 3k rpm.

Yup just talked a place today about edm im shipping them out to be checked out. I am also thinking im gonna drive the cp3 directly from the crankshaft to take the load off the fragile timing chains and that will also leave me with the possibility to add a second cp3

Don't forget that whp stands for wish horse power. :p
Yep, this comes up quite often in dmax forums :D

About Edm nozzles..solenoid injectors are easy, but who can change piezo nozzles, balance correct and also give new zero Quantity adjustment codes? Afaik only bosch factory can do proper job rebuilding/adjusting them, but maybe now things have already changed.
If you want 600hp then first you need to figure out nozzles. After you have some reallife doi map, then can think about what pressures you need and choose pump displacement. My experiance shows that with 2k railpressure, around 530-540hp (420 wheel power with ca 25% loss) the cp3s3 l110 can make. With 1600bar probably more but doi would be a week long.

what pump rpm corresponds with the 550hp?
R90 pump makes 450 hp according to bobby at around 3300 pump rpm.
