According to German news magazine 'Der Spiegel', there are new investigations into the role Bosch played in the diesel scandal. Apparently German authorities are now looking into whether Bosch also supplied 'special' motor control software to Fiat, Ford, General Motors and Hyundai. An investigation into the connections to Volkswagen, Audi, Daimler and Chrysler has already been under way for a while.

While these investigations will no doubt go on, as a long time (1977-2015) Golf TDI owner and current 2015 TDI 6-speed awaiting the fix, I find this news item very interesting!

Interesting, but so vague that it may be a decade or more from implementation. By that time, while it may prove to be great for larger-displacement engines, passenger car diesel will be strictly a legacy item, moving into museum and memory territory.
