Sportwagen vs sedan...Jetta & Passat sedan

Looking at 2011 -2014 diesels. Nearest dealer 3 hours. Can anyone tell me if the sportwagen Jetta has as much front and back seat room as sedan?
If not does the diesel passat get comparable mpg to jetta?
Lastly does passat sacrifice power for room?

Not sure about comparison to the sedan, but I do know that my 13 wagon and my wife's 15 golf have almost identical rear seat room. I would imagine the Jetta sedan is very similar. Passat probably has more room

Jetta wagon in US is based on European Golf wagon. It has less legroom in the back than Jetta sedan and significantly less rear seat room than Passat. If you're after practicality consider wagon but keep in mind you'll be sacrificing rear passengers legroom. If you're looking for comfort go for the Passat, it has more than enough legroom and space in general for rear passengers.

My grandchildren barely fit in rear seat jetta... .I guess Passat it is.
I'm hoping the manual transmission is as responsive and as much fun as the jetta....
