I need some knowledge please on my screen shot. This is for my VW 2012 TDI Passat. It has 2 coolant sensors, I have replaced the front sensor that is making the code. My question is, when I am looking at the reading, the -40 read out on number 2 ECT sensor, is that normal, or should it be reading the current temperature?
I have tested the wires going to the front temp sensor and I am getting 5 volts from the one side. I have done a continuity test also, but I am not getting anything from the meter on the other side of the plug. Is this normal for a VW? or could the wire on the one side possibly have a break in it somewhere? Please advise. Thanks!
