What I need from those who are interested is your color choice. I will then post here how many kits are left. once all 10 kits are spoken for, I will gather the correct amount of hose and make the kits up. after I make the kits, I will then ask you to paypal/MO me the $54 and you will receive your kit in the US mail. (priority mail with tracking number) this process will take a couple of weeks.

From the pictures it appears that no clamps are necessary. Will it remain that way as the hoses age? I am interested in a blue set for a Jetta.

not sure about the hose clamp question. will ask my distributer.

The hose techniques site has pkgs of color matched nylon
zip ties available for any connections that may work loose
with age. ($2.50 plus $6.66 shipping UPS /images/graemlins/eek.gif )

My experience installing these on my car says that they do
not need any clamps as all of the fittings have at least
one barb/bump on them to hold the hose on. and if I ever
develop a leak, I will just attack my toolbox for some zip-ties.

From the factory, there were only two clamps installed on
the hoses on my bug. One on the top of the EGR and another
on the turbo diaphram (not pictured above). I did not
replace them as the hoses fit on these fittings nicely and
there isn't much if any stress on the connection to pull
the hose off.

Steveosd and all, Yes, each hose/connector will be labeled with an item number. you will also receive in either email form or I might print them out a labeled photo similiar to the above with the part numbers located showing how they
connect.

RE: what are the advantages of silicone over original.
oooo I could sooo insert a joke here but I won't. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The advantage of silicone hoses is that they are designed to last MUCH MUCH longer than factory original hoses.
they may eventually need a zip tie to hold it on the connection, but they shouldnt get hard or brittle like a rubber(factory) hose will. these will stay pliable much longer and will look better in your engine compartment. all theyt will need is a quick wipe with a damp rag to stay looking nice and clean.

I have been operating under the assumption that the kit includes replacing the vacuum line that some have suggested cutting as part of the intake cleaning process. Is this true?

Fuel (of any kind) should not be going through the vacuum hoses, Lito.
