I've been trying to troubleshoot a P0183 code for awhile now. Issue started when the crank sensor was replaced (I got the stop engine now / no Oil Pressure / No tach / etc.). Went through replacing the ESS (tip - if you cant get the 4mm allen bolt out, take a die grinder to the web of the block - saved R&R of transmission).
Put it back together and all is well except for now I have a P0183 code (below).
I pulled the wire harnesses apart, looked for bad/chafed wires, cleaned/checked all the under hood grounds, had wire continuity back to the ECU, 5 volts to the fuel temp sensor, replaced fuel temp sensor, etc....
No change, still 38.7°C on VAGCOM.
Next, I cut the yellow and brown wires from the ECU and ran separate wires to a new plug to the new fuel temp sensor. Still 38.7°C on VAGCOM. I do not believe the fuel temp sensor wires connect anywhere else in the loom...
Only thing I can think of next is the ECU has a problem or possibly the connector to the ECU has a bad connection.
Car is a 2006 BRM TDI / 5 speed manual trans
Any thoughts appreciated. Code below.
Thanks in advance!
