01179 - Incorrect Key Programming 000 - - Problem

I bought a 2009 JSW and it came with one key. I ordered a new one from a very reputable non-dealership. I took the key to the dealer to get it programed to the car. They were able to get the key programed, but not program the locks. I called the company I bought it from and talked to them about it. They were very helpful and sent me out two more chipsets and the VAG-COM cable to program it myself. I have attempted several times following the directions exactly. I have un-programmed my original key and programmed it back, so I know its correct. The problem is that I cannot get it programmed either nor with the other chipsets. Any ideas on where to start?

Make sure the doors are locked when programming. You might be able to do it the non-VCDS way with good key in the ignition and the other in the door.

thanks. I've tried with the doors unlocked and the non-VCDS way also. I'm kind of baffled at why its not working.

Sounds like you need to investigate the key fob part. Have you compared the code on it to the working key?

Separate the key halves by pulling them apart. There are numbers on the end of the remote control part of the FOB that need to match. See pic:

Here are the chips. The one with the single and part of the FOB are the original working ones.

I never meant for you to strip it down to the chip board. Look at the code in the pic I posted. It's probably not going to match your keys, but that style long code should ideally match on each of the keys. You are displaying one of the codes in your pic.

lol. I've gotten used to taking them apart lately. I've swapped all the chips out trying to get one to work. The other one (replacement) doesn't have any markings on it like the original has.

I think the OP means the vendor he is working with sent him replacement PCBs only, if so looking at the numbers on the fob housing is not going to help.

OP, do the numbers on any of the black surface mount chips match those on the working one? If not, that's probably an issue.

None of the new chip numbers match the original, however they are the same chipset if that makes sense. The original chip doesn't match anything engraved on the original FOB either.
