Hey Guys,
I have a 2003 MKIV Golf with an Automatic 4 Speed 01M Trans.
As of late, I have found that when the car is cold, it will often not seem to fully grab First. I find it to be the worst when pulling off red lights (Basically from stopped to moving). It will begin to throttle then lose power, then a (hard) jolt and I'm back in business. The odd thing is that it's like it has slipped into Neutral for a few seconds and then cuts right into First. No loss of RPMs. As it heats up, the jolts become less severe, but not completely gone.
I have ran VAG-COM on my Trans. with no returned error codes, and even reset the controller per the Wiki page HERE.
I plan on changing the ATF in it just so I can rule that out, but I was wondering if anyone else has either come across this or knows a solution. I'm starting to lean towards either the Valve Body or a issue with the Torque Converter.
