Do I need to use VW 507 spec oil after DPF delete?

Since the main reason why VW 507.00 specification motor oil is prescribed for CJAA enjine is to maximize DPF life span through low ash content, do I still need to stick to this oil after DPF delete? Can I just use any oil approved for modern diesel engines?

I use Rotella T-6. Works great.

Absolutely no reason to continue using 507. That spec was for low ash to help extend the life of the DPF (not exactly a stellar success!). T6 is cheap synthetic and great for almost any scenario.

Rotella T-6 as well. Top of the line oil. $22 a gallon.
