I recently purchased a 2015 Passat TDI SE that was one of the fixed ones with only 10k miles. it has the DSG tiptronic transmission. In the 2010 TDI jetta I turned in, the sport mode moved the shift points up into a higher RPM range. you could tell that the engine was revving higher in every gear and there was a noticeable increase in power. you could tell the change as soon as you put it in sport mode, no matter what speed you were going at the time. it was great in urban traffic when you needed faster acceleration.
In this new Passat, putting the gear selector in sport mode does not seem to change a thing. I don't see an increase in RPM's on the tach at all. Did they change the programming a ton between 2010 and 2015? is it a Jetta vs Passat thing? or is there something wrong with the transmission in this car?
Thanks.
