Contacted Jason at Mobile One and have an appointment next week with him. Its nice to know that there is someone near by that specializes in VW's. Jason quoted me the same price as a local tranny shop that's only 2 min away, but it became apparent that it will be well worth the 45 min drive to Mobile One.

Yeah going to see Jason @ Mobile One is worth the drive. His knowledge on VW cars is quite amazing. Especially his knowledge on transmissions. With my 5 speed trans out of the car he managed to pull my 5th gear in under 5 minutes.

I keep hearing nothing but good things about him. JasonTDI, up in Wisconsin, highly recommended him also. I just wish I wasn't going in for a repair, it would have been nice to get the LSD that he is offering.

He does not rebuild automatics.
