clutch problem?

I test drove a 2003 TDI GLS at a dealership and when your start out in first from a stand still u can feel the engine through the clutch, it feels like something tapping on your foot, its not hard but its feelable, ive only drove automatic diesel pickups so I have no idea how a clutch feels on a diesel, so my question is, is this normal?

I can feel it on my Bora Tdi PD
