A/C leak? hissing...

just recharged my A/C with 134a. Cold air never came but immediately heard hissing noise from front rad area.

Pulled the grill and pinhole developed on the side of that front radiator looking thing. Is that the condenser?
Am I screwed?

Yes, that's the condensor. Yes, you'll need a new one.

www.vwparts.com (800-736-3550) has AC condensors for $178 ... the dealership charges $230. I am going to attempt to replace mine this weekend. Been too hot in Washington, DC.

If I recall correctly Mickey had fits getting the condenser from vwparts to fit correctly on his beetle. The dealer condenser may be a better fit...
