Performance muffler on Passat?

Wondering whether it is worth it to put a Borla or other muffler on a 2013 Passat TDI. I have heard there is not much power gain, but I’m more after making it sound cool. Will this mess up the emissions components? Thanks.

No it won't. Best is straight pipe but muffler post the emission mess won't hurt anything other than wallet.

You won't hear ANY difference. My 2012 Golf has no muffler at all and it sounds exactly the same as when it was completely stock. The Turbo and DPF kill all the sound, if you want it to sound good you'll need to delete.
