Laser Key Cut around Hamilton/GTA

Anyone know where i can get a key blade copied...its a passat b6 key blade.

needs to be just cut...i cant remember the place in hamilton anymore.

any other places anyone know of?

there is a guy in cambridge i believe. found him on kijiji. just waiting for my blank key to come in.

looks like he can program the 2009 push in key type cars too. b6 passat

I can cut them at work.

We charge $15 plus HST to cut the keys.

We are in Hamilton.

The only keys I can't cut are the outside laser cut, like a Pontiac G8 or Honda. All the others we can cut.

i used to deliver parts there when i worked for upper james toyota. how much to get the key cut @danielsza

We charge $15 for laser cut keys, and $5 for regular keys.

Are they really laser cut or just milled but people call them laser cut? The tooling marks looks milling to me.

They're milled. The 'laser cut' is simply that each cut is done straight from pitch to pitch instead of a consistent angle like a lot of other keys. This is to keep the wear down on the more complex locks.

It was a term that just caught on early on. Another name that seems to be more appropriate is 'sidewinder keys'.

Went to John bear Buick. They said they can’t cut VW keys cause the Passat key is plastic

The newer GM keys are same switchblade design "made of plastic" as VW keys. How do they cut those?

the passat keyblade is made out of hard plastic.

the picture above, the keyblade is made out of metal, and the fob made out of plastic

got it - one of the newer ones where the blade is rarely used.

I would think that milling plastic would be even easier?

Would any GM dealership be able/willing to cut a VW key? I just spent 15 minutes on hold with my local GM dealer before I gave up on them. Maybe best to take a drive by.

Went down to John Bear today, had a couple keys cut.
They gave me a 4 digit number with the key. Any chance this is the immobilizer code?
I didn't think they could figure that out just from the key.

The code you would have been given was your key code.

You can use the key code to have another keycut without tracing the old key.
