2004 1.9 tdi polo won't start

Hi my problem is I was driving my 1.9 tdi polo along when it lost power and sounded as though a inter cooler pipe had came off , I pulled over turned engine off checked to make sure there was no obvious problems tried to start turns over but no firing up, I've checked cambelt and replaced camshaft position sensor but still nothing any advise would be welcomed
