I just bought a case of this off of Amazon. They have a great rebate going. It is listed as a 507.00 spec (as well as MB 229.51). My issues with using it...as I read the bottle it states "Also suitable for turbo-charged and Intercooled direct injection high-performance diesel engines fitted with blow by recirculation and exhaust gas recirculation WITHOUT particulate filters" (my emphasis on without). It states "meets or exceeds" for the manufacturer specs. Is it ok to use on the newer CR engines?

(One "case" was 6 quarts, not 12 and not liters)

It's on the most current vw spec sheet which you can find in my signature. And I've seen very postive uoa's posted too.

Edit: thanks just picked up two cases with subscription and coupon for 85 so about 7 dollars a quart.

Yup, I'm planning to get a second as well. Just seemed they worded it incorrectly. I didn't go subscription but they mail a $10 rebate and $5 off the next if I recall correctly. I'll give it a go for that price. Just wanted to make sure it is the correct stuff is all. Hadn't looked for updated chart and I'm using tapatalk, so can't see the sig from this app.

It's safe for CRs, they're just saying it can be used in older TDIs, also.

Total cost for two cases : 12 quarts

93.76 with tax using max subscribe and save discount, minus$20 rebate: 73.76 equals 6.14 a quart all in. Not bad at all.

Bringing this thread back from 2013.
.
Pennzoil Ultra Euro L appears to have been now been replaced by Pennzoil Platinum Ultra Euro
.
There are now four formulations, two which concern me: Euro LX 0W-30 and Euro L 5w-30. Best I can tell the LX 0w-30 is 507.00 but not the L 5w-30. The L 5w-30 is Dexos2
.
I wonder why penzoil did not spec the the 5w-30 to 507.00?
.
Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 is both 507.00 and Dexos 2
.
It's a shame the Pennzoil does not meet both specs with one oil as both are carried at some WalMart's now, but I've a Colorado diesel that uses Dexos 2. It would have been great if I could stock one Pennzoil brand for both my rides.
.
I would use 507.00 in My Colorado as according to the Lubrizol tool 507.00 appears to be superior, but I don't want to use a 0w-30 in that truck.
.
Guess I'll stay with Mobil 1 ESP :)

It looks like you can find the Pennzoil Platinum Euro L SAE 5W-30:

But not this one:[FONT=myriad-pro, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]

Did you call around to find it?

Walmart does have the Dexos2 5w-30, but does not appear to carry the 507.00 0w-30.
Probably just continue to use the M1 esp as it covers both Dexos2 for the Colorado Duramax and the Passat.
If the Pennzoil 5w30 Platinum Euro L had both approvals I'd be all set, but they don't.
