Did you look into getting the rust fixed on the VW 12 year rust warranty? Is the paint original?

The dealer will check the pain thickness and if it's original will honor the rust repairs for free. I had my 2 front fenders replaced in 2013 on my 2002 Jetta wagon, just in time.

OK. I'll bite. I'm getting slightly interested. Heated seats? ESP or ASR by chance?

There would be a button between the drivers side heated seat switch and the hazard button. It would say ESP. Otherwise it probably has ASR.

Yes! It has the ESP button! Always a joke here because my wife thought it REALLY meant ESP! " Because VW KNOWS what you want!"

Someone buy this car. Brian is a great guy. I found another that suits my taste a bit better...otherwise this would have been mine.

I have opened a case with VW on the corrosion issues- I will know later this week what the outcome is...

I had called a dealer, they took down my # and had a region supervisor call me (or something like that).

I was told I'd have to leave the car for the day, wile it was looked t. Sionce it was a small dealer I asked where the body shop was and they said it was 15 miles away and they would tow my car there and back.

I called a bunch of dealers and another one near me had an on-site body shop, so I called them and had them process the claim.

We scheduled a time when the regional supervisor was going to be there and he was impressed with how good the paint was. They replaced both front fenders even though only one was showing signs of rust (TSB on the matter exists).

The body shop ordered the panels, we made an appt. and I dropped the car off for 3 days. They said they it doesn't include shading the new paint to match the old paint, but, when I picked the car up, I could't tell the new from the old unless I really, looked for it.

Anyway, if they'll cover it, it would make it easier to sell the car.

Good luck.
