Not sure if this is the right category or not but here goes.
I'm currently in process of doing a minor rebuild on my engine after experiencing excessive cam wear which resulted in the cam seizing up and some valves getting bent. Car is a 2000 NB TDI, auto with 120k miles (the last 20k being driven by me, I have no record of its prior maintenance. With about 2 grand invested in repairing the engine, I am looking at driving this car long-term.
I realize that VW designed the transmission to be sealed with lifetime fluid, but is there any advantage to doing a fluid change? Where can I find info on doing this? I have a Bentley manual on CD-ROM headed my way, does this manual cover it?
