Ok, it'll be time for my 40k service come the New Year. I have been good to my car, but it's never had a major going-over. I want to get everybody's opinion of what to get done, and make sure I haven't missed everything. The car is 20 months old, and the last service (period) was at 33,000, in early October. Here goes the list so far:
1)T-belt
2)Delvac 1 and filter (so i can get back to oil change intervals at 40, 50, 60 etc, plus it's my first running of Delvac and I want to make sure any gunk it has cleaned up gets flushed asap)
3)fuel filter
4)Amsoil gear lube change-out (shifting has been grinding and stiff lately)
5)rotate and balance tires/wheels
6)drain water separator
7)check pads and rotors (they feel warped)
8)replace brake fluid
9)check the intercooler (if my tech will do it)
Anything else I may have glossed over?

Replace - Air filter, and Pollen Air filter, and clean the screen If still installed or just have it removed).

If it's an auto have the transmission fluid changed.

Drivbiwire, I had the air filter replaced (dealer freebie) at 33k, and the dust and pollen filter looks clean (as Rene's son vacummed it out for me when I got the chip done, hehe). Think it still needs to be replaced?

You can't really see the small pollen particles, but I usually replace them every six months (wife has alergies).

Will:

I suggest you consider including the following:

1. Inspect and spray the CV Boots with silicone.

2. Lube the 4 caliper slide rails.

3. Lube Intake Manifold change-over Valve - Anti-Shudder Valve linkage.

4. Lube hood and trunk struts and/or hinges and underhood latch assembly with grease.

5. Lube all door locking mechanisms and hinges.

6. Lube fuel filler door latch assembly.

7. Clear any leaves or debris out of intercooler funnel.

Thanks guys. Have ya'll ever tried Wurth spray grease? Very good stuff but quite pricey ~$17 a can. I may try that. And Powder Hound that's a big DUH! on my part - I guess it would be drained with a filter change. I've been getting black smoke lately too, after the chip (no Rene I am not blaming the chip itself
and I wonder if maybe the injection pump timing should be checked?

If you replace the fuel filter (3) there is no need to worry about (6) draining the water separator (but you knew that already).
