2005 Passat B5.5 auto, Limp mode then no fwd gears

What is up with this? Any ideas other than bad Trans. Reverse works fine. Fluid level good. I pulled pan. No chunks. Getting ready to pull filter and check solenoids. Ant good procedure for doing solenoid test?

Sounds like same problem with Italian tanks in WW2. No forward motion, only reverse.

Sounds like you need a new transmission.

I wish I would have converted to a manual transmission.
I may sell this brand new automatic transmission and go the manual conversion anyway.

Deming. If you decide to sell the auto I will probably be in the market. Dropped pan and found non ferris metal chunks and a bunch of shavings in filter. I don't know wether to scrap this thing or put a trans in it. I have only had 3 months. Can't afford a 5 speed swap.

If you want to sell iy as-is, let me know, I'm looking for a wagon that needs a transmission swap.
