Dealer didn\'t want to take my money for MAF
They practically refused to sell me the 2.0 MAF for my TDI. They wanted 422.00 for the TDI version and 51.00 for the 2.0 version. I complained enough and they finally sold me the 2.0 MAF and guess what??? Our cars performance is back to where it should be!!!
We weren't getting a CEL, but the performance had went to crap. It felt like there was no turbo, it bogged after shifting etc. Now it's smooth as glass and as powerful as I remember.
Replacing the MAF was my second step in diagnosis. First was cleaning the intake. Ours was clogged down to the size of a quarter or less after only 70,000 miles.
Next up is to clean the intercooler and then bypass the PCV and "fix" the EGR.
