Beginning December 20, 2018 an approved emissions modification ("AEM") will again be available for your Generation 2 automatic transmission vehicle after a temporary pause. Due to the period of unavailability of the approved emissions modification ("AEM") for your vehicle, we have extended the period during which you can elect to retain your vehicle, have the AEM performed and still be eligible for benefits.
You must still return your complete signed offer letter to Volkswagen by December 30, 2018 and may now have the AEM performed on your vehicle by January 31, 2019. We strongly encourage you to send your signed offer letter to Volkswagen as soon as possible to allow you time to correct any deficiencies prior to the December 30, 2018 deadline. Appointments for an AEM should be scheduled directly with your preferred dealership.
This extension to January 31, 2019 applies to eligible owners and lessees of Generation 2 vehicles with automatic transmissions that elect AEM only, and not to any other remedy. Please note that after January 31, 2019, you may still receive an AEM free of charge but you will be ineligible for benefits under the 2.0-Liter Settlement Claims Program.
