Will VW dealer do emissions fix if my car has dash lights on?

My 2010 sportwagen has numerous lights illuminated regarding the emissions system. Do I need to address these before the dealer will preform the fix? Is there a cutoff date as to when VW will no longer offer a buyback? I had planned to keep the car but don't want to pay for a new dpf if that's what turns out to be wrong.

I would take it in as is and tell them you are there for the fix and leave it at that. My high pressure turbo charge pipe had a crack and was leaking oil all over my driveway and they fixed it under warranty on my 2010 JSW, so you have nothing to lose.

I had a "check 3rd brake light" warning when mine got fixed. No problems
with the light, or the fix.
