Gents,

I have a BEW long block which suffered a broken timing belt, and needs to be redone.

Assuming the head is salvageable, if it was sent to Frank, would a BEW head physically fit on a BHW block?

As it is, my head is fine right now save for a slight "my bearings are starting to wear" whine from the cam.

Plan would be to have the BEW head redone, line bored, cam and lifters installed as well as redone injectors, ready to go when the cam finally goes.

Thoughts? I know about the split ports, but most threads seem to indicate they would stay in place but not do anything.

Try to compare head gaskets. That should so if it will bolt up.

Hey, Ryan P. told me that pd heads were all the same.
the valves are more recessed in BEW heads.... BRM, ARL, and BHW heads have more valve head projection hence the valve pockets in the pistons of these engines... BEW pistons are flat with no valve "relief" .... the BEW head will bolt up and probably work fine on a BHW but I'm not sure how the more recessed valves will effect combustion effieciency ....

Ryanp is wrong. As jimbote says, the BEW is the odd child of the pd heads....

It's been a while. But in the past I remember there being some write ups about this. And they said the BRM and BHW head are the same.

I don’t think you identical is the right term, but they are compatible.
