I did my glowplug harness, I have the glowplugs so they're on the list. I guess im confused about the engine stuff mostly. n75 and such...

There are just too many to list....
I am guessing you have a charge air leak somewhere. Usually low boost and a MAF value off are due to that.

Not terrible.
Keep a record, clear all, see which ones come back right away and which ones come back at say 500 miles.
Don't just go out and buy the components named, rather research codes and troubleshoot each system involved.
As our cars get older we see more and more issues with wiring/connects.

Put an ohm-meter between the engine block and each glow plug (remember, manual counts the cylinders in one direction, the computer in the other). Should see about 1-1.5 ohms on each plug if they're good, open/infinite if bad.

To add to the above, a weak battery or one that has sat for a while (including one
with corroded battery terminals) will drop lower in volts than it normally might.
This has been known to trigger fault codes merely because the ECM is seeing a
value outside the normal range.

I second that. It happened to me when my battery was dying. Crazy codes everywhere. I thought my car was a goner.

I recommend:

1. charge up / replace battery
2. clear codes
3. watch for codes to return then fix

I just had the battery off to do some work on the car... put it back on, then had to take it off again... i wonder if this had something to do with it.

I am concerned about clearing all the codes, I heard somewhere that clearing air bag codes could cause them to activate.... anyone confirm this at all??

I would think clearing the codes should be OK.
You have the list of the current codes to compare what comes back and how fast.

If the battery is getting weak it can cause issues. If the voltage drops below 9.6 volts (iIrc) the ECU will not work.
Have it charged and load tested.

With the codes spread across so many modules I would check ground connections. The one under the battery tray has been mentioned many times. If that one is bad anything that grounds to the body will have a bad ground.

Awesome thanks guys.... yah i only reallly get on here once or twice a week so its nice to see some ideas..

I was driving around today and it went into limp mode a whole bunch of times, so ill meet my buddy tomorrow night for a beer and clear them all and see what comes back... Pretty sure he has a battery tester so ill check that too.

Then, ill start picking up bits and trouble shooting

Battery test can't hurt.
If cranking voltage drops to low the ECM might pick up on it.

With the scanner hooked up (VCDS is the preferred one) clear the codes, drive around and when you get limp mode scan for codes.
Write the codes down you get down & post them here.

You mentioned '(no power anyway)'. Limp mode can be under boost also.

I caved and just took it to a TDI mechanic. He spent quite a bit of time and it turns out that the actuator was seized and there was a leaky vacuum pipe.

Picked it up, and its like a new car. im $200 lighter but oh man, its quicker that it was when i bought it. i'm very happy.

Now I think its time to save for a 5speed swap.

UGH!! decided to go over the hilll on my way home today. just gave er' on the way up.... limp mode :( but even in limp mode it kept a decent pace, unlike before when it would just slow right down and id have to pull over and restart...

the mystery continues. gonna do the maf and n75 just because i think

Codes now?

Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk

I scanned using my basic reader and it only said glow plugs 3 and 4.....

Gonna bring it back to the guy this week and see.

he said the n75 was functioning good, but didnt swap the maf and there was no code for it (and still isnt), but when i did a scan, there was. so it vanished. but then again, i did unplug it to check how it ran.

will post the follow up soon
