Driver's Door Won't unlock with Power

Need some troubleshooting help here, my 05 Type4 TDI Jetta drivers door won't unlock using the remote or the inside switch. It will lock but not unlock. Key in door handle works locking and unlocking. Any experience with this? Could my remote battery just be weak? I don't think that's it because it won't work with in inside rocker switches either. Looking for advice.

It could be a broken wire in the harness going to the lock mechanism, or it could be a defective motor inside the lock module... A bit of a pain to replace... there are threads on vwvortex as well as a couple of YouTube videos... I would caution against getting one of the ultra-cheap lock modules you find on eBay, as I had one that lasted about a month...

Most likely the door latch, very common. Like, crazy common (I do at least one a week). All sorts of different failure modes.
