Default Remote control window roll-up/down

A few people I had talked to today at Shay-dee-acres wanted to know if it is possible to use a Vag-Com to program your older VW to operate the windows with your remote like the newer 05/06 or Audis can do .

Well I found this website and there is a write up and instructions how to do it and some more comments from other people.

http://www.passatworld.com/forums/ar.../t-219402.html

Here it is from that website not written by me!.
=====================================

I can't find anything about it here on the forums so I decided to post this information here. A while ago some clever geniuses in Germany discovered that you can modify the software of the central convenience control module so that it works like it does in Audi cars for ages and it does in the newer VW.

Press and hold the open button on your key fob and the windows roll down
Press and hold the close button on your key fob and the windows roll up

What do you need to do to get this to work?

1) a laptop or pc
2) a serial vag-com cable. Not all of them work for this. ProChip and orignal Rosstech interfaces are known to work in most cases
3) a pretty old dos only software called VDC Pro

I found two links to the software on it on the internet:
Mirror #1 (Bootdisk included) (http://rapidshare.de/files/25819996/vcd_boot.img.html)
Mirror #2 (VDC only) (http://www.vege-duewels.de/VDC_PRO.zip)

You can't do this from any windows version (Dos only!), with any USB interface or with VAG-COM or a VW 1551 tester.

Use the following procedure to reprogram the module

1. start vdc
2. connect to central convenience (46)
3. start login procedure (11)
4. use the code 19283
5. read serial eeprom (26)

Find the list of known values further down this post. Write down the original values at and continue.

6. write serial eeprom (27)

Enter the memory address and value mentioned in the list down below.
Do this for all addresses mentioned

7. end output (06)

Now exit your car and lock it. When you now open your car with the key fob and hold the button the windows should start to roll down and stop when you lift your finger.

This works for all VW/Seat/Skoda cars that use the same type control module. Passat B5, B5.5, Golf Mk IV, Seat Leon, Jetta, Bora...

The following codes have been collected on different boards in Germany for the listed modules:

1J0 959 799 AH (any index) and 1J0 959 799 S 03B

Memory Address / old value / new value
04283 / 8 / 2
04289 / 8 / 2
08628 / 242 / 246 driver side front window
12724 / 250 / 254 passenger side front window
16280 / 250 / 254 driver side rear window
20916 / 242 / 246 passenger side rear window

1J0 959 799 J 00E

Memory Address / old value / new value
04286 / 8 / 2
04291 / 8 / 2
04296 / 8 / 2
08628 / 242 / 246 driver side front window
12724 / 250 / 254 passenger side front window
16280 / 250 / 254 driver side rear window
20916 / 242 / 246 passenger side rear window

1C0 959 799 A (any index) and 1C0 959 799 B (any index) for Variant/Wagon

Memory Address / old value / new value
04361 / 75 / 67
04362 / 75 / 67
04363 / 75 / 67

1C0 959 799 A (any index) and 1C0 959 799 B (any index) for Limousine/Sedan

Memory Address / old value / new value
04361 / 74 / 66
04362 / 74 / 66
04363 / 74 / 66

If you find any more codes/version/control modules where this works please post the codes here.

If it doesn't work just put your old values back in there and no harm is done.

I'm just passing on the info I found. I installed my Alien Tech today at Shaydees, but this info I found after I got home and did a search on the web.

I thought I had seen this discussed before and was of the understanding that it will NOT work with KEY-COM cables. It will work with the older cables or the ones off fleabay though ...
