2014 Passat TDI, What is it?

I just purchased my first VW a 2014 Passat TDI SE and was looking through some VW blogs and they talk about B5 or B6 or B7 versions. What do I have?

It was built and sold in USA.

Do I also need to know the type of engine I have? It is 2.0 TDI, but is there some other designation I need?

I'm looking for some aftermarket door sill protectors and all the ones I've seen come from China. Any experience with these?

It is an "NMS" (New Midsize Sedan) with the CKRA engine code.

"B7" is the Euro version of the Passat, which is completely different. Some other internet sites/forums/blogs will incorrectly refer to the US version as the "B7," so make sure you know for sure before ordering parts or following instructions - the two models are vastly different.
