Windshield cost?

I broke a windshield. What should it cost to replace it in Maryland? I'm being quoted $400. That seems high, but I need it fixed.

I have a 2012 Jetta 4dr diesel standard.

I recently had to replace mine, and paid $405 installed for the sound dampening windshield. So $400 is probably about as good as it's going to get. If it's the non-sound dampening one then it should be about $100 cheaper, as I was quoted $309 for that one.

With comp on my car insurance I only paid the deductible ;$100 for a new windshield

One good thing about the highly regulated insurance industry in Massachusetts is that with comprehensive coverage, there is no cost for windshield replacement.

For that much make SURE it's OEM glass not a knock off.
