Rebuilt 2013 Jetta TDI

I purchased a used 2013 Jetta TDI the end of July from a dealer who replaced the front driver quarter panel and door . The car was purchased by him in March as a total. No engine damage, airbag deployment, etc. The car was rebuilt to look like new, so we thought it would make a great car for the college student who had previously driven a 2004 Jetta TDI (now brother's car) . I have the same 2013 Jetta TDI that I am doing buy-back on1/14/16.
Just curious as to anyone else's experience with trying to sell back a rebuilt TDI? The accident that was considered a total was in late December 2015. Car was never not drivable. Title is now labeled rebuilt from Virginia. I submitted all of the paperwork but have not heard an outcome yet. I think VW is trying to determine what to do with this claim; but haven't been able to speak to a human being. I submitted the papaerwork at the same time as my other TDI. We are OK keeping the car, but obviously am concerned about whatever fix they will come up with, assuming they do.

I got my eligibility on 11/22 as well, maybe that means there is hope for an offer soon.

I am more mad that I will have to pay property tax on the car again next year since MO you pay on any car that you own on 1/1 of the year, even if you sell it on 1/2

We purchase our 2010 TDI Jetta Sportswagon New in the fall of 2010. Never financed, moved as fast as we could on the buyback. For weeks it has still been in review. I hope I live long enough to give it back. So much for the middle of Nov.

Completed my 2011 Jetta buyback today. Couldn't have been easier. I walked into the dealership and they had a dedicated person greeting me - "Hello Mr. XXX?". She took a couple pictures of the car and started it. I signed 2 forms and was done.

Took 10 minutes. There was no selling, which was good. It seems they want to keep the TDI issue as discreet as possible. I am in the market for an SQ5 and they said the Audi dealer across the way may give a deal to TDI customers but it was nothing material. Probably BS but I'll give it a shot. :)

Is anyone else having trouble updating their record on the spreadsheet? The sheet loads, but I can't enter any new data in the cells.

My Passat Tdi SEL gets turned in next week. Replaced with a wonderful '14 BMW 328d xi wagon getting 42.5mpg. Makes me want to get rid of the '04 VW JSW too. So much more diesel power in the 328d wagon and great for the long hauls. Bringing the 328d when we drop off the Passat.

5 Minute Buy Back Process!

Yesterday I had a 2:30 pm buyback appointment in SF for my 2012 Golf TDI financed thru VW Credit. I arrived an hour early to avoid traffic. The guy in front of me had a 1:30 appointment. I walked across the street to SF Audi to admire a 2017 R8 V10 Plus in Suzuka Gray in the showroom. At 1:45 pm I went back to the VW dealer and met with the settlement advisor. He asked for the keys and then went outside to start the car and take pictures of the back, sides, front and interior. He walked back to his desk, pulled out the paperwork for me to sign (they had filled it out for me even though I had filled out my own copies to expedite the process), I signed two documents and I was done! It took about 5 minutes in total. He told me to expect an email from Chase in the next three days to get the EFT process done.

I mentioned to him that the amount the settlement letter indicated VW was going to pay VW Credit for the buyout of the loan did not reflect a payment I had made at the end of November 2016. He said he had another customer in the same situation and told me to call the VW Settlement Hotline. Well, about 10 minutes ago, I called and actually spoke with a specialist. She confirmed that any amounts due to me resulting from an over payment would be sent via check once the loan was paid in full. We shall see.

Getting the money was relatively painless. I had to wait for an email from JP Chase, sign up at their payment site, enter my bank info, and I got the wire 1 day later. I'm all done.

Dropped my Jetta off yesterday and it took over an hour. The dealership employees were being incredibly rude to the buyback rep. First, they didn't tell him I was there, so he was wandering around looking for his 3:30 appointment (me). They also were giving him a hard time about the pileup of TDis in the lot. He said he has had eight per day for the last five days and they won't tell him where a good place to put them is. The dealership people kept interrupting my appointment to come give him a hard time about the cars and other people showing up to turn their cars in. On top of this, they didn't give him an office inside, they made him sit in a concrete block storage room outside the service area. Once I was done, the manager of the store got me on the list for the shuttle, and his sales convict pushed me hard on leasing a new Touareg until the shuttle driver pulled out of the driveway.
Still don't have my email from Chase, but I figure it will take a little longer, because the payoff quote on the BofA website is $17 higher than the letter said.
Won't be buying from that dealership, solely based on how they treated the Buyback rep.

Very unprofessional for them to say anything negative to the guy in front of you.

Today is the 34th business day, clock started Nov. 1.

Won't be back to VW.

12/21 - 8:30pm - Received Chase email, and promptly completed requested info.
12/22 - 5:30am - Noticed funds had been deposited and are available in my personal act.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The settlement specifies timeliness and I thought penalties for missing them, but no one seems to care.
Maybe a second class action suit is in order. Lol
Waiting since 11/3 for an offer.

I haven't been able to access the spreadsheet for a long time.

2012 Golf TDI, Private Loan
10/27 - Documents submitted online
11/1 - Documents marked Complete

12/13 - Call support line, said all documents have been marked complete by VW and 3rd party, but no other information was available. I asked how much longer I should expect to wait based on completed documents 5 weeks prior. She said she didn't know, but thought I should hear something within 1-2 weeks based on my status (probably total BS).

12/22 - Today, here we are without hearing anything from them. Doubt I will hear from them before the New Year. ugh.

I am moving late January, early February to the east coast and the wait on the buybacks is already pushed past that timeframe. Not sure what to do at that point. What a mess!

Two cars- 2013 with a loan, documents approved 11/16, still no offer
2014 without a loan, documents approved 11/30 with offer today, 12/22

I'd say they're definitely processing paid off cars more quickly...

Agreed....Today makes Day#20 since the 11/25 (Step15) approval I had received. And go-figure, mine is thru Audi Financial. How hard can it really be VW?

Just submitted my docs today, but I really don't recall opting for fix or buyback. I remember getting to that page and just logging out. I'm waiting for chat to get on the line so I can confirm that I'm uploading for the buyback. It would suck if I upload these documents and they don't "get around to it" until after the fix deadline in January. Then I'd likely have to resubmit and wait even longer.

Yeah. I just contacted them via chat and had them reset me to step 8. I guess some really late night I must've opted for the fix. Got it corrected to buyback now.

Just uploaded the 4 documents. Registration, primary license, secondary license, and loan consent.

Added myself to the bottom of the input tab of spreadsheet. Really jealous of whoever got the "Anonymous Nyan Cat" logo.

Also, user USCGTO got REALLY lucky on his/her timing on approval, etc. Only 45ish days from upload to buyback. (Row 2116) Hope we get that lucky.
