FWIW, I just noticed that the TSC store has Rotella T 5W40 synthetic for the 505 spec oil users at 27.99 for 4 l jug. A better buy is in wallymart in the USA but this is the first that I,ve seen here other than occasionally at Cambodian Tire.

It's been brought to my attention that this shop didn't do a great job with timing belts in the past. One member specifically had a really bad experience with this shop regarding timing belts. I don't know if it was a fluke or not, but definitely something to consider.

I believe the other shops listed above aren't doing too bad with TDI maintenance. Unfortunately, no shop really has any expertise per-se (save for a few) when working with the TDIs, so it's always a bit of a crap-shoot.

Default Ontario FAQ need update?

Truck Town Terminals has B20 on tap... (its the ONLY place I get fuel)
Check the fuel price on thier webcam...http://64.201.63.27:81/cgi-bin/fulls...ck=on&camera=4
Here is their website...http://www.trucktownterminals.com/

Not sure they are any onther BioDiesel pumps around?

I can give a excellent endorsement for The Source for VW...http://www.thesourceforvw.com/
They even have a money back gaurantee! I took a tour of the place a year ago... they know their used VW parts and can give you a quote on line (may take a week, be patient, or call them for quicker service)

bump!

I wouldn't go to TECHMAX either.... From what I hear I'm not the only one that's had a bad experience there...

Total Mechanical Services (Orangeville) has done fine for me so far. I had a timing belt changed there 32,000 km ago, and nothing bad has happened yet :-)

The Audi VW Shop and Parts (1160 Crestlawn Drive, Unit 8, 905.624.9007, mississauga --near eglinton/dixie). One-mechanic/owner, $70/hour. Fair diagnostics, knows repair very well, explains and doesn't mind showing procedure, only recommends what's necessary.

Gunter's Bug Service in Holland Landing / Bradford, Ontario. Highly recommended. Honest guy won't rip you off and won't tell you to fix it if it doesn't need it. A definite opposite from some of the dealers. No waiting room and might be a bit slower than some but reasonable prices.

The Bug Shop does great work, had some work done at this shop. Great guys that work there, and great service at a great price. Very pleased with the service. I will be going back for sure.

Anyone heard of Amin @ Salims Auto repair?
They seem to work on TDI's and sell some too in downtown Toronto.

Also, they are very rude, I wanted to buy some transmission oil, and i asked the old dude just to make sure it was the right ATF fluid, and he shouted at me.

any word on these guys?
I went to see them about buying a TDI.
all they seem to deal with is VW.
and almost every TDI they were selling they had advertised with new timing just done...
I know they've been around forever too... just wondering if they're good.

I have a great shop in Caledon that I go to, just 10 min north of brampton, and you get a free loaner car if you car ahead and set it up. Great service and good prices and oem part too.

The place is called: Caledon Motors Inc, 15396 Airport Rd
Caledon East, ON , L7C1E6

I have had them do my glow plugs and timing belt and oil changes.
