Wow congrats!

"The result is seamless power throughout the racecourse. This change netted the team a whopping 11-second per lap gain at Sebring during preliminary testing, and the final tuning wasn’t even complete. The TDI is quickly becoming competitive with its conventional counterparts.........

While race teams are understandably discreet and often conservative about sharing horsepower and torque ratings, we did manage to discover the 1.9 twin-turbo motor is producing “somewhere around” 250 hp with torque approaching 300 ft-lb. That’s a nice package out of an internally stock motor. To put this in perspective, Osborn could take the motor out of his street car, bolt on the compound twin-turbo system from Garrett, along with some other external goodies and viola! A race engine is born."

yes...they can be

FYI: the race versions are water and oil cooled......our single turbo system last year was squeezed pretty hard but generated a very nice power band and was very reliable under race conditions... it just could not reach the target RPM/HP for world challenge competition..

Nice article. Glad to see somebody's got twins that work properly. If only the new 09's could get them as an 'option'. So when's the next race? You gonna make it to Miller?

Uhh, that is a different "set" of twins! Mechanical things are always easier to control.

Miller is out for us.... we are focusing on the double header at Lime Rock just 5days after the Miller race in UTAH.

BTW: Street versions are currenlty avail but they are NOT cheap..each application is custom...but they are nice.

Cant wait to see your car at Limerock on Memorial weekend, we go there every year, but this is the first year actually owning a tdi (but it wont be there). But me (and my non-tdi vw diesel owning brother-in-law) will be cheering you on, and hopefully drop by.
