What aftermarket head unit is recommended to get Apple CarPlay?

Adapters/control boxes required for controls and such, I had the Sony XAV-AX100 in my 2012 Jetta and was happy with it. Moved that radio from car to car until upgrading about a month ago to JVC KW-M845BW for wireless android auto and putting the AX100 in my mk4. Both radios are nice, the AX100 is old/cheap now but requires a wired connection to the phone.
The RCD330+ might be a workable solution for you also but I thought it acted pretty weird and the forums admins on the most popular forum for that radio are always releasing pay-to-download firmware updates which felt sketchy enough to get me to move back to the aftermarket units.
