FM radio antenna

Hello, I had to get a aftermarket radio after the 2010 stock one died. I went with a kenwood 9904s and the shop installed a pre amp adapter. Since the start, the radio has been horrible compared to stock with FM and AM. Not as much gain at all! HD radio hardly comes in also. I thought it was my area, only to drive a new maza the other day and all 30 HD radio stations came in perfect! Yet still in my car, lucky to get 1. Anything I can do or try?

Well if you paid a shop to do the install, I'd take it back and have them fix their work since the job is obviously not finished.

Take the radio back and buy a stock radio. If you get a newer stock radio it’ll have HD radio built-in.
