I just signed up to this board, lots of good information.
Just wondering what goes on at TDI fest? Searched around, and there is not not much information.
I am about 3 hours west, and was thinking of maybe taking a drive over.

Tons of hot chicks, free alcohol and late night burn outs.

 From what I've read, everyone brings their laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc. then congregate in the hotel lobby reading and posting to TDIClub!

Those that DON'T do the above but happen to wander into the lobby, are known as "Losers in the Lobby" :D

The main reason for the fest is to raise funds for the site. The 2011 Fest there were over 200 cars there is was wild good fun I had a good time.We had one guy take out his oil pan, another loose his keys.

And that was just at the funkana! ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing what others have done to their vehicles, though.

Sounds like TDI owners do have more fun. I think I may have to check it out. I don't think I will hang around the lobby, I hate to be branded a lobby loser!

I'm in the mapping process and I have a question about Monday (LaborDay) events. Since I will be going to Raleigh, NC then backtracking to Louisville, KY to get to Munfordville, KY by Friday, it looks like I'll have to leave on Monday. What is normally scheduled for that day?

Traditionally, nothing. There have been fests at which non-official events have been available on the Monday. The Toronto (Burlington) fest organizers mentioned that there was a track day at Grattan. In Michigan there was an SCCA autocross event. Neither of those were part of the TDIFest weekend, but were additional activities that were in the area for those that were hanging around another day.

p.s.: Both were quite enjoyable.

Loserdom is serious business.

(And us losers are the ones using the smartphones, tablets, laptops, and in certain cases, laptops with desktop keyboards.)

I think we'll probably organize a mini Go Kart event on Monday for those people who plan on staying an extra day. This will be at the indoor Go Kart track at Kart 2 Kart ... http://www.kart2kart.com

Nope, 5.5 hp of gutless (some more gutless than others, at least one with bad rings or leaking valve guides or something) Honda power. :p

Still fun as hell, though, just frustrating when you get spun out, and end up outside of the powerband...

150-200 is a good target number. In DC we had 240-something IIRC, including guests and friends.
