So I just did the evry mod on my 2000 jetta by hooking up pins 2 and 3 to a 1k pot and on/off switch. My problem is that even when I have the switch off and start my car the CEL comes on and glow plug light flashes. Anyone have any ideas why? All help is appreciated, thanks in advance. -Max

The Evry mod is frowned upon by most in this group as a hack.
You probably did something wrong. What exactly is hard to know. I suggest removing and saving your money for a real tune. I've never heard of anyone regretting the investment.

I just did it to see what would happen, I was never planning on keeping it around for long. I cleared the CEL and it hasnt came back on. Speaking of tunes what would you recommend?
