Arbitration is this August. Global Vehicles has the option of filing federal lawsuit if they are not satisfied with the outcome of arbitration.

Prevailing thought is that Mahindra will settle the lawsuit by buying out Global Vehicles with the existing dealers transferring to Mahindra. Mahindra has stated the desire to export Ssangyong vehicles to North America.

Ssangyong truck is even uglier than Ridgeline, Crosstour and Aztek.

I hope this truck makes it here.

I'm certain aftermarket tuners will find a way to "correct" the bad fuel economy.

I do too! I actually seen these trucks in person and would put them in the same "stoutness" as a jeep! And if you have ever had a mahindra tractor here in the states you will know their quality and low maintainence.

why am I not surprised?

AHhh.... Well then, I guess they've given up and there will be no Mahindra diesel truck for North America.

Didn't see that coming... ;)
Yup. And anotha one bites the dust heh, heh.

More discouraging news about the abandoned NA diesel small vehicle "market". Sigh.

Why is it so surprising that the 4x4 crew cab with an auto tranny gets 9 less mpg than the regular cab 4x2 with a manual?

This thing's going to be completely obsolete by the time it gets here. And last time I looked there were no manual transmissions. I've lost interest.

Mahindra abandons North American plans

Mahindra will not sell diesel pickup in North America.

Mahindra story-

part 2 Mahindra story-

Meanwhile, SSangyong (owned by Mahindra) has publicly stated (in 2011) it intends to sell vehicles in North American market within two years. And I believe they opened an office in NJ.
