Default Neuspeed Turbo Discharge Damper Review

So I decided to do a review on the neuspeed turbo discharge damper. I have only had this on for a week so bare with me. When I received the box that it came in it was well packed and there was no damage to the box. When you open the box there are pretty good instructions on how to install the piece step by step with pictures. I thought that was a plus! The install took me about 3 hours. I had to run to the hardware store to pick up some tools to do the job. You also get two replacement bolts for the new damper to bolt onto the charge side of the turbo. I thought the piece was well made and it fit perfect on my 2014 Jetta TDI premium. I didn't have to modify anything so that was a plus. The instructions give you a list of tools you need for the job. My main goal in buying this was to open the sound of the turbo. After driving it for a week I can hear the turbo spool up a lot better then when it was stock. It's not very loud, but it's a reasonable swoosh as your car shifts. I wish it was a little bit louder lol. As far as fuel economy I didn't notice a change, I still get 44-49 MPG highway. As far as performance goes there is less lag on wide open throttle, but not a whole lot of difference. Was it worth 140 bucks? I think the price could drop because all your really getting is a little bit more sound and a little bit of less turbo lag. Any more questions just post below! Thanks!

That seems like a perfectly reasonable and honest review. I was considering getting one for the exact reasons you stated, but went with H&R Sport Springs instead (haven't had the time to install them yet!)

But when I asked about it on the MK6 forums, got a bunch of flame posts because "it is a pointless, stupid mod. Go drive a rice with a fart can" lol.. Anyway, I might do this down the road because I noticed the engine completely overpowers the turbo above about 2000 RPM other than between shifts. Glad you like it!
